No matter how excited I am to move, the act of actually packing up and moving out is always bitter-sweet. As I lugged my bags of clothes and shoes down the hall, down the stairs and out to my car, I couldn’t help but pause and take it all in.
Tonight will be my last night sleeping in the Rosemary Home in Litchfield. Although unwanted little critters often found their way into my room and bathroom and the scorching summer heat was unbearable at times (not-to-mention the creepy noises that often kept me awake at night), a little part of me will miss this old house and this little old neighborhood that I’ve grown so fond of. Mostly, I’ll miss being within walking distance of a beautiful lake that I often escaped to when I needed to clear my mind.
I am excited to move back to Fargo, but as I pack everything into my car I realize a chapter in my life has closed. I have been so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work at West Central Tribune as a summer intern. I’ve covered a wide variety of news and events and have met amazing people all along the way. Moving to Willmar for this summer internship has been a huge step in my life and knowing that it’s time to take the next step is a bit scary, yet exciting.
As I move back to Fargo, I will take the next step and start a new chapter of my life – senior year – I can’t wait!
