Last week I found out that my big brother landed a job in Pierre, S.D., and that he would be moving very soon to start working. So, I planned a trip home with Robert to visit with him one last time before he moves seven hours away.

My mom decided to make a big Thanksgiving dinner a bit early since he’s moving this Monday. Along with our dinner, we all played RISK (I dominated), Apples to Apples and Wii Sports. It felt like Christmas time.

Although I’m extremely happy for my brother and excited that he got a good job, I’ll be super sad to see him go. Being only 15 months apart in age, we have always been pretty close. Yes, he picked on me all the time (still does) and I annoyed him like crazy (still do). But, he’s my big brother and I have always looked up to him (figuratively and literally – he’s like 6’1″). And let’s be honest, I’m really going to miss seeing him when I come home for the weekends.

So, Cody, if you’re reading this, you need to get better at using your phone because I’m going to be calling and texting! Good luck in South Dakota, Big Bro! I know you’ll do great!
