We’ve all seen plenty of women walking around the mall or down the street wearing leggings as pants. But then you look on the internet and see everyone complaining about it. (Here is a few quick example I found on Pinterest). Until yesterday, I had only worn leggings as pants within my own home. Not just because I didn’t think it was appropriate, but because I didn’t feel comfortable leaving the house with just leggings on.
But yesterday I stepped out the house wearing leggings as pants for the first time. After a long night out celebrating, I had a rough day at home yesterday. I spent most of the day laying in bed or on the couch, so I wore my leggings, a tank top and cardigan. I didn’t venture outside until about 5 p.m. when it was already dark outside. We went through the drive-thru at Little Caesars and then stopped by the school where we planned to work on stuff, but it was already closed. We snapped some quick photos and went home.
Although my leggings were very comfortable all day, I didn’t exactly feel 100 percent comfortable wearing them outside the house. I wore a long cardigan to help cover my butt which helped, but I don’t think I’ll be trading out my jeans for leggings any time soon.
I’m not 100 percent against it, but if you’re going to wear leggings as pants PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you don’t have a camel toe. Because honestly NO ONE wants to see that! And NEVER try to pass tights off as leggings because THERE IS a difference!
How do you feel about wearing leggings as pants?
Oh, and how do you like the new banner?

Neat idea for a 30 day challenge. Good luck!
Thanks, Char!
I really don’t see what the big deal is. What is camel toe?
Thanks for your input. A camel toe is a front wedgie on a female.
Jasmine,
I am really enjoying your challenge. Of course, very little of what you wear would be OK on me. I agree totally with you about the leggings. You looked great, the top has to cover the butt. Minnetonka High School is banning leggings unless the top covers the butt.
Thanks, Donna. I read about Minnetonka in The Forum and Star Tribune last week and figured it was a good time for a post about the subject! Hope everything is going well at the tribune!
I think leggings are only okay if you have a decent body. It doesn’t need to cover your butt, but ONLY IF you can not see your underwear AT ALL. And I completely agree with you on the camel toe thing! Leggings also need to be worn with the right shoes.
