In the last few months, I’ve acquired a lot of brown, tan and cream colored clothing. Once I started working at the bank, I decided I should buy some different colored dress pants, since I only had black. I ended up buying two different shades of brown. Since I didn’t have any brown blazers to match, I found a couple cardigans in different shades of cream that were a perfect match.

I’ve loved pairing my new neutrals with my colorful scarves and tank tops to create fun layered looks. On Sunday, I paired my 3/4-sleeve cream cardigan with a purple tank top, jeans and my cognac boots (another neutral-colored fav!). I finished the look with my peach floral printed scarf.

I love how this layered look is cute, comfy and not over-done. Pairing neutrals with colors and patterns allows you to add more layers without creating a too-busy look. Neutral colors also transition well from business attire to casual attire. Check back tomorrow for another day-to-night featured post.
