Day 29: The final stretch

For day 29 of the 30-30 Style Challenge, I had to pull out my gray tights. I love how thick and warm they are, and I really didn’t wear them as much as I should have during this challenge.

I took a risk pairing the tights with this skirt since the grays didn’t really match, but I think it worked well. And the shoes just add an extra pop of color to my feet! I love it!

There’s only one day left in the challenge, and I have to be honest, I’m super excited to be done! Although I’ve loved the challenge of mixing and restyling to find new looks every day, I can only wear the same 30 items for so long before I start to get bored. But, I’ll definitely be revisiting some of my favorite looks from the challenge in the future! Ahh! Almost done!

Day 17: The versatile body-con

Since I have some catching up to do on the 30-30 style challenge, I’ll keep this short. For day 17, I wore my teal body-con dress with my black body-con skirt. I know I’m constantly saying this, but I absolutely love how versatile body-con dress (and skirts) are. I’ve worn them by themselves, tucked into skirts, as a long shirt over jeans, with leggings or tights, and belted or not belted. This style, tucked in to a body-con skirt is probably my favorite!

What’s your favorite way to wear your body-con dresses and skirts?

Playful, yet polished

Of all the outfits I’ve worn lately, I think today’s look best defines my true style (and the name of the blog): cute and comfy.

Today, I wore my black body-con dress from Forever 21 with a blue flowy skirt from Target. From the dress to the skirt to the sandals, everything about this look is comfy. The materials are super soft and everything fits perfectly.

The look is fun and playful, yet polished and perfect for work. The top is tight and the skirt is so flowy, which creates the perfect balance. I love how the black top compliments the bright blue bottom. And the sparkly necklace and belt really complete the look.

I love everything about it.  It’s super cute and super comfy, plus there’s a bit of sparkle and shine, which I love! It’s perfect the look for a “cute ‘n’ comfy” girl like me! :)

Black & white business casual

I’ve been colorless the past two days. On Monday, I wore a black bodycon skirt with a black and white halter top. I bought this top about 2 years ago and have only worn it on a few occasions, but I absolutely love it.

And who doesn’t love a simple bodycon skirt. They are perfect for almost any occasion – going out, dinner date, school, work, shopping … anything. I love that you can pair them with different tops to create completely different looks.

On Tuesday, I wore my black and white floral dress with a white cardigan. I bought this dress a few years ago as well, but I’ve worn it on many occasions. It’s the perfect summer dress for business casual and casual occasions.

And I finished both looks with my black Jelly Pop pumps – the perfect work shoe.

Which look do you like better – skirt and top or dress?

Five pieces for $50

I spent my day wandering in and out of stores and ended with five new pieces. I’m supposed to be saving money for a new car, but hey, each piece was under $15, so that makes it OK, right? … I’d like to think so anyway. I found two items at Clothes Mentor and three at Plato’s Closet, for a grand total of $50.52. Five great [cute and comfy] pieces for a little more than $50 – now that’s a deal!

Khaki capris – $12, Unyx floral dress – $10, Printed dress – $10, Miley Cyrus Max Azriablue mini skirt – $5, Floral Hollister mini skirt – $12

I wore a simple blue tank top from Aeropostale with my new scarf from Target and white skinny jeans from Express. After Clothes Mentor, I quickly traded my skinny jeans for my new khaki capris – much cooler! Plus, they matched my shoes better.

Can’t wait to style the rest of my new pieces!

New transitional piece

I headed to Target after work yesterday to waste some time. After trying on a ton of dresses and skirts, I finally found a vibrant blue skirt that fit perfectly. I wanted to pair it with a white tee shirt or tank top, but needed some color on top so I looked around for a fun printed cardigan. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any that matched, so my next option was a scarf. And I found the perfect one!

The scarf is light weight and colorful, perfect for the summer. But it can also be paired with more neutral tones to add a hint of color to your fall wardrobe. It’s the perfect transitional piece!

I loved this outfit! It’s so cute and super comfy – definitely passed the test! Can’t wait to pair this scarf (and skirt) with different looks!

On another note, I found a set of outfit photos from Father’s day that I never posted and guess what I’m wearing … my jean jacket! Check back tomorrow to see how I styled it this time!

Downtown [photo] adventure

Before I left for Litchfield, Robert and I had hardly spent a day apart since we started dating. So, being away for even just a week was difficult. Even though we called each other and Skyped, I missed him so much. So when Friday night finally rolled around, I was more than excited to go home for the long weekend and spend some time with him.

On Sunday, we went downtown to return a library book (which never actually got returned) and ended up wandering around taking photos. I wore a black body con skirt and a dark fuchsia tank. I brought all my shoes to Litchfield for the summer, so I only had my black flip flops.

Although I love the outfit and it was very comfy, it was a bad choice for a breezy day. I should have thought to bring a cardi. Oh well, I didn’t freeze too much.

I wanted to try a walking photo like I see on so many “street style” blogs. And I think we finally got one that looks pretty decent, but it took awhile. I don’t know how people can look so beautiful mid-step, it’s unnatural.

Gosh, I love that boy! ♥
